Get Chemical Equipment Modules from Dr. Jackson or the Retired Chemist when they offer them at your counter. The Cartel Handler can also give them through the Cartel route. Dr. Jackson's shop provides additional stock opportunities, but a stock chance is not a guaranteed delivery on the next visit.

Before installing a module, choose its destination deliberately. The same special module improves the Blender, Heating Plate, or Chem Finisher in different ways, and it requires a Module Extractor to remove once installed. A scarce module placed in the wrong machine can leave the actual production problem unchanged.

Identify the special chemistry module

The Chemical Equipment Module is a distinct item, not a general name for every upgrade used near chemistry equipment. It has a listed base value of 250 credits and occupies a 2 × 2 area. Its ordinary legality is not contraband.

Read the exact item name when shopping. A universal Performance or Quality module is not automatically interchangeable with this special component. The chemistry machines use their own upgrade behavior, so buying a cheaper general module does not establish that it will provide the required chemistry improvement.

Likewise, the item being legal does not make every individual copy safe to ignore during inspection. A stolen copy can still have a stolen status. Legality of the item category and ownership status of the offered object are separate properties to check during a purchase.

The module's description identifies three compatible targets: the Blender, Heating Plate, and Chem Finisher. The Evaporator uses ordinary modules instead. That distinction is useful when your chemistry workshop contains all four machines and only one stage is causing delays.

Check the actual sellers

Dr. Jackson and the Retired Chemist are the direct sellers to watch at the counter. Inspect their offered goods for the exact module rather than assuming every equipment visit contains one.

Dr. Jackson's shop also rolls for this stock. Jackson Investments add further opportunities, but they do not turn a probabilistic stock system into a fixed delivery date. Keep enough purchasing funds available when checking rather than making a production promise that depends on the module appearing immediately.

The Cartel Handler is another listed source through the Cartel route. Treat that as a progression-related opportunity rather than a freely repeatable shop you can summon whenever a batch fails. The current Cartel interaction matters to what is being provided.

If the module is absent, distinguish the missing stock from the absence of the seller. You may have access to the right supplier without the desired roll appearing. Waiting for another opportunity is a different problem from trying to unlock a merchant you have never encountered.

Inspect your bottleneck before spending

A chemistry chain can fail at extraction, heating, drying, or packaging. The best destination for your next module depends on which of those stages is limiting the current product.

Use the Composition Spectrometer and the machine statistics to find the weak point. If valuable input is lost during blending, examine the Blender. If temperature control prevents the intended reaction, examine the Heating Plate. If a clean concentrate becomes weaker when packaged, examine the Chem Finisher.

A wet ingredient error points first toward evaporation and remaining solvent. Installing a chemistry module into the finisher does not make an undried container ready to package. Check the relevant operation before using scarce stock on a machine that is not causing the error.

The same reasoning applies to a low-purity product. It can come from dirty input or from finishing contamination. Compare the concentrate before packaging with the finished product instead of assuming every disappointing vial needs another finisher upgrade.

Use the Blender to reduce extraction loss

Chemical Equipment Modules reduce the Blender's material loss. The listed progression is 35% loss without upgrades, then 20%, 10%, 5%, and finally 0% as modules are added.

That affects how much useful material survives the blending stage. It is relevant when raw ingredients are costly or scarce and you want more usable output from what you process. It does not directly authenticate the product or remove every contaminant introduced later.

One20%
Two10%
Three5%
Four0%

Consider the next improvement rather than only the fully upgraded endpoint. The first module changes the loss substantially, while later additions continue toward zero. A workshop with several weak stages may benefit from distributing scarce modules rather than finishing one machine before inspecting the others.

Keep the ingredient and container workflow unchanged when comparing results. If you also alter the starting batch, solvent, and heating at the same time, it becomes difficult to tell what the Blender upgrade contributed.

Plan Heating Plate upgrades around temperature control

The Heating Plate has a particularly important upgrade sequence. One Chemical Equipment Module changes its fixed heat from 99°C to 160°C. Two modules allow you to set the temperature.

The first module is therefore not simply a universal safety improvement. A higher fixed temperature can be unsuitable for a heat-sensitive recipe. Read the recipe's required range before assuming that the upgraded plate should be used in the same way as before.

For Dream Cap extraction, preserving the correct temperature range matters because excessive heat damages the desired material. If your objective is precise control, plan around the second module rather than stopping at a hotter fixed setting and expecting the same result.

Do not count an owned but uninstalled second module as working temperature control. Verify the plate's actual interface after installation and check the setting before heating the next mixture. The displayed machine state is the operational result of your investment.

Use the Chem Finisher to reduce packaging impurities

The Chem Finisher introduces contamination as it packages the processed ingredient. Chemical Equipment Modules reduce that penalty from 12% to 6%, 3%, 1%, and finally 0%.

None12%
One6%
Two3%
Three1%
Four0%

This upgrade is especially useful when the input is already clean enough that finishing becomes the quality ceiling. Compare the machine's statistic with the actual mixture instead of assuming that four modules guarantee a pure product from any starting material.

At zero introduced contamination, the finisher has stopped adding this particular penalty. It has not removed protein, physical residue, or other unwanted material already present in the concentrate. Those problems must be addressed before packaging.

If your current order requires only a modest purity threshold, inspect whether the existing setup already meets it consistently. Spending every available credit on the last finishing improvement can be less urgent than buying ingredients, solvent, or power needed to produce the required quantity.

Keep the Evaporator out of the special-module queue

The Evaporator belongs to the chemistry workflow but uses normal equipment modules. If the problem is slow overnight drying, check its applicable Performance and Efficiency options rather than waiting for another Chemical Equipment Module.

A second important distinction is between drying speed and dry-product purity. More evaporation throughput helps remove solvent sooner. It does not necessarily fix the unwanted solid components that remain afterward.

This separation makes shopping more efficient. Reserve Chemical Equipment Modules for the three compatible special targets, and buy ordinary Evaporator upgrades only when they solve the actual drying bottleneck. A shared workshop does not imply a shared module system.

Plan removal before installation

Chemical Equipment Modules require a Module Extractor to remove after installation. Do not assume you can freely drag one out to test a different machine and then move it back.

A Basic Module Extractor provides a limited number of uses, while the Advanced version provides unlimited extraction without normal use degradation. Occasional reallocation does not necessarily require the more expensive tool, but you need an appropriate extractor available for whichever plan you choose.

Think about the destination before pressing the module into place. If you expect to need two Heating Plate upgrades for control, keep that sequence in mind when assigning the first scarce copies. If your finisher is the current quality ceiling, verify its remaining penalty before taking a module from a useful Blender upgrade.

Module Extractor (Basic)

Use an extractor to remove an installed special module.

Reserve room and funds for the upgrade

The module needs a clear two-by-two area in the destination bay. Enough scattered empty cells do not necessarily make that shape available. Inspect the grid before buying a module you cannot currently fit, and distinguish rearranging free space from expanding the bay.

A Module Bay Expansion Kit opens additional space; it does not supply the chemistry effect by itself. Buy expansion when you have a useful module waiting for room, rather than assuming the kit directly reduces blending loss or finishing contamination.

Keep the module purchase separate from the supplies needed to use the improved machine. An upgraded workshop still needs raw ingredients and an appropriate container, and its downstream Evaporator still needs power. A purchase that consumes the entire operating budget can delay the batch it was intended to improve.

Make the next purchase concrete

Before shopping, identify the machine, its current statistic, and the improvement from one more module. Check the seller's exact item, price, and ownership status. Before installation, confirm compatibility and whether removal would require an extractor you do not yet own.

After installation, inspect the changed machine statistic and run the relevant production stage. A successful purchase is only the first step; the useful outcome is the specific loss, temperature, or contamination problem changing in the machine you intended to improve.
