Wanted Criminals and Bounties

Quick Answer

Report wanted criminals in Probably Stolen by matching the customer to the Wanted poster and holding the teal Call Security button while that person is still at the window.

Report wanted criminals in Probably Stolen by matching the customer to the Wanted poster and holding the teal Call Security button while that person is still at the window. A quick tap does not activate the report. Wait for Security to arrive and complete the arrest before treating the bounty as collected.

The poster contains nine criminals with 3,600 credits in combined base rewards. Those amounts are not guaranteed income for a particular week: arrivals vary, starting perks change payouts, and some arrests affect other factions. Confirm the identity and consider the specific visitor before pressing the alarm.

Get the poster and keep it accessible

Officer Lun introduces reporting during the opening day. He wears a red beret and sunglasses and gives you the Wanted poster. The poster goes into your inventory, where you can read it and compare its portraits with the current visitor.

Keep it somewhere easy to reach during trading. Recognizing a face from memory is helpful, but the poster provides the actual comparison. A customer can be wanted while otherwise behaving like a normal buyer or seller.

Use the face, not the merchandise, as the poster check. A visitor offering a firearm is not automatically wanted, and a customer selling ordinary goods is not automatically safe. The pictured identity is the relevant condition for these bounties.

Officer Lun also warns about false accusations. The reporting mechanic is available to help identify and arrest the listed people; it is not a free way to test every vaguely familiar face. Read the portrait before committing to the hold action.

Compare the current customer with the listed portraits.

Compare all nine base bounties

The amounts below are the base poster rewards. Model Citizen and Convict alter what you actually receive. The list also helps explain why a correct smaller payout is not necessarily a reporting error.

Wanted criminalBase bounty
Lou1,500 credits
The Butcher450 credits
Li Bei Wen400 credits
James Bailey300 credits
Odin Haraldsson300 credits
Leroy300 credits
Juan125 credits
John Smith125 credits
Arthur Lafleur100 credits

Lou accounts for a large share of the total, but her arrest begins a separate follow-up storyline. Do not reduce that choice to the largest number in the table. Her later visits and demands make it a different commitment from an ordinary one-off bounty.

The Butcher also has story-related timing. An earlier ordinary visit does not mean the same reporting status applies before he appears as wanted. Use the current poster and event state rather than reporting a familiar face simply because you know its future bounty.

When Security arrests a poster criminal, the portrait is crossed out. That visual record helps you distinguish a completed arrest from a visitor you merely recognized or allowed to leave.

Activate Call Security with a hold

The teal button sits on the counter's control strip beside the green and red controls. Its tooltip reads Call Security for assistance. Position the cursor over that control and hold for about half a second.

A brief click is ignored. If the button appears unresponsive, first check that you are holding it rather than repeatedly tapping. That input issue can look like a locked reporting feature even when the mechanic is available.

Use this order:

  1. Open the poster and compare the customer with the portraits.
  2. Confirm that the person is still at the shop window.
  3. Locate the teal Call Security control.
  4. Press and hold until the report registers.
  5. Check the changed tooltip or the customer's reaction.
  6. Wait for the officers and the arrest.
  7. Verify the payment and the crossed-out portrait.

The changed tooltip can state that the current customer has already been reported. Once that state appears, repeated presses are not needed. Let the accepted report finish instead of mistaking the short wait for another failed button press.

Verify the arrest rather than only the alarm

A registered call and a completed arrest are successive stages. Security arrives at the window, identifies the suspect, and escorts the customer away. The actual payment and reputation result follow the successful action.

Watch for the specific faction notification. A correct wanted report increases Security reputation, but it can also change your standing elsewhere. Reporting James Bailey can cost Lower Levels reputation, while Odin Haraldsson's arrest can affect the Revolution.

Those other-faction losses do not by themselves mean the identity was wrong. Compare the arrest result and payout with the poster. The game can confirm a legitimate arrest while another faction dislikes your decision.

You can also inspect the run summary's Security tab. Wanted Criminals Caught tracks the main poster arrests, while Wrongful Reports records a different outcome. Use the matching statistic rather than treating every Security-related action as progress toward the same count.

Account for Model Citizen and Convict

Model Citizen raises the reward and Security reputation gain from wanted reports by 50%. Convict reduces those rewards by 25%. They also affect starting Security reputation, so the perk choice changes both the initial relationship and later bounty economics.

Lou provides a clear payment comparison: her 1,500-credit base bounty becomes 2,250 with Model Citizen or 1,125 with Convict. Those are modified versions of the same report, not different bounty listings.

Known Snitch changes the opportunity itself by preventing criminals pictured on the Wanted poster from visiting the store. If you selected that perk, waiting for the normal poster visitors is not the same plan as an ordinary run.

Check your starting conditions before diagnosing missing customers or unexpected payments. A payout difference explained by a perk does not require another report, and an arrival restriction cannot be fixed by reorganizing the poster in your inventory.

Expect a mix of fixed and random visits

Some wanted encounters follow the opening sequence. With the introduction played, Arthur Lafleur can appear on Day 3 and Odin Haraldsson on Day 10. Skipping the introduction changes Odin's early timing, so a guide's calendar should not be applied without checking that starting choice.

Other wanted visitors come from a random pool. These arrivals begin later in a normal introduction run than in a skipped-introduction run. Already arrested criminals are removed from that selection, so the remaining pool changes as you report people.

The practical result is that checking only on a remembered bounty day is insufficient. Keep the poster available throughout normal trading, especially when a face looks familiar. Random arrivals do not need to announce themselves as special events.

Lou has an additional condition: she appears only after the Business Permit. If you have not acquired the permit, her absence does not establish that the wanted system has stopped working.

Handle a missed visitor without making a new mistake

Letting a wanted criminal leave does not immediately fine you. The following Nightly Report can identify the person who visited, revealing that you missed a bounty opportunity.

Read that as information about the previous day. It does not mean that a similar-looking customer arriving next is automatically the same criminal. Recheck the poster and the current visitor instead of trying to recover the missed reward with a hurried accusation.

A missed visitor also does not count as an arrest. The customer must be reported while present, and Security must complete the action. A name in the nightly message cannot be turned into yesterday's payment after the encounter has ended.

Use the message to improve recognition. Note the face and the identity, then return to normal inspection. The useful correction is more accurate comparison, not pressing the alarm on everyone who resembles the missed portrait.

Understand the cost of wrongful reports

A wrongful report costs eight Security reputation. With a balance of at least 100 credits, it can also result in a 50-credit fine. Repeated mistakes bring escalating warnings, including a warning after the fourth that another wrongful report will lead to arrest.

One wrongful report is forgiven every five days, but that recovery is not a reason to spend accusations casually. Financial pressure and damaged Security standing can make an avoidable mistake more disruptive than the bounty you hoped to collect.

When the portrait comparison remains uncertain, inspect again before holding the button. The control's convenience does not remove the identity requirement. A normal customer who happens to resemble a criminal remains a normal customer.

Separate poster bounties from other reports

Call Security also applies to stolen goods and contraband, and some special visitors can become wanted without appearing on the nine-person poster. Those reports have their own conditions and payment rules.

Georgio is one such unlisted wanted visitor during particular storyline days. His existence means the poster is not a complete list of every possible report in the run. It does not mean every Georgio visit is reportable.

Augs are another distinct case. Calling Security on an Aug allows it to escape before officers arrive, so do not use the wanted-criminal routine as your Aug elimination method. First identify which problem you are responding to.

For poster targets, the repeatable sequence remains portrait comparison, a deliberate hold, and verified arrest. The crossed-out portrait, the actual payout, and the Security summary together establish the result much more clearly than the alarm press alone.
